He was 22 yr old when he went into the Air Corps in February 1942. 2nd LT, B-17 Bombardier with the 301st Bomb Group, 352nd Squadron in Europe
His nickname was "Snappy", born in Washington D.C. but resided in Tampa Florida when he enlisted
He served until September 10,1968 when, at the age of 49 he passed away during open heart surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He was assigned to the Pentagon

Lt. Bryant left for N. Africa on Sept 24, 1943 from Camp Patrick Henry to Hampton Roads, VA to board the SS Eugene Hale and arrived Casablanca Tuesday Oct 12 about 16oo hrs and disembarked for Camp Don P. Passage 4 miles west of town. Stayed 4 days in Casablanca then left for Algiers by A.T.C. . Continued on to Tunis the next morning on Oct 18 and arrived Tunis at 1300 hrs to Field Oudna #2 (Eloina)

Result: 10 miles from Toulon (targ.) No. #1, blew oil line from being hit by fighter attack. Refused to feather. At 10,000 received orders to be ready to bail out from "Lindy". 40 miles from Calvi, Corsica came on down to 1,000' after salvoing bombs and prepared to ditch. No.#1 engine smoking badly, and ready to fire, oil pouring out over super charger. Saw little field , managed crash land, field measured 2400 ft had been de-mined only 3 days previous, spent night with RAF radar outfit, slept next day. EDR Ajjacio. Lucky Boy.
