Bombardment of Pola
CENTRO DI RICERCHE STORICHE - UNIONE ITALIANA
my name is Raul Marsetic and I work as a researcher at the History Reseach Center in Rovigno in Istria (today within the Republic of Croatia, but until 1945 a part of Italy). It has been a while now that I am conducting a research about the bombing of the Allied Forces that targetted Pola during the years 1944 and 1945 (Mediterranean Theatre of Operations).
Throughout the research already done I have found out that among the 20 bombings I am reasearching about, most of them have been effectuated with the bombarders of the 15th Air Force of the United States and I know that the 301st BG Force attack Pola 1 January 1944, 8 June 1944 and 19 Febbruary 1945.
I am searching for every kind of pictures (or film), material, story obout raids in Pola.
Every information that you will send me will contribute for your stories to be told to generations to come, stories of heroism and sacrifice thanks to which we today live in peace and freedom remaining profoundly grateful to the American and Britain people.
Hoping very much that you will help me and awaiting impatiently for your reply, I thank you in advance and remain with kindest regards.
