Richard S Wilkins

attempting to locate any information on Richard S Wilkins, bombardier in 353BS Jul 42 to Jul 43. Flew in B17 E & F. A/C name is believed to have been Puffing Hussy? He was the bombardier who sunk Italian crusier/battleship? in Med around Tunisia. He is/was my uncle, but only 15 years older than me. More like a brother. I have pictures of him in Africa and some stories, but no picture of his aircraft. There was one B17 book out about 10 years ago with an flight formation photo showing a B17 in the foreground and just beyound was Fair American?, the B17 that was struck by a ME109 almost severing the tail section. The photo shows the starboard side rather than the port side. They wre escorting Fair American back to base. I would like to find out the name of the book, as I gave my copy to Dick and never got it back when he passed. The foreground plane in the picture was his plane. I would also like to correspond with any one who was in the 353BS who knew Dick and also might have a picture of the aircraft. I am the history keeper for our family and the only one who was alive during WW2. Dick's son was born after WW2 was long over. Any help will be fully appreciated and any data I have collected over the years will be shared. I have one more uncle left alive, and he also serviced in the African campaign. He was 12th AAF and flew C47s during the same time Dick was in Africa. I have info also from him but do not have his Squadron # readily available. Again, thanks for your help in advance.
