Memorial A/C 42-97728 - Dedication 9 Aug 2008

Dear Sirs or Madams,

On November 15, 1944, the B-17G aircraft, AAF Serial Number 42-97728 went down in the Austrian Alps. There were eight crew members KIA and two survivors. ( MACR 10081 ) The aircraft was from the 352nd Squadron of the 301st Bomb Group. There is a Photo Album of the Crash Site on 301BG.COM supplied by Mr. Richard Pieber of Austria. Close to the crash site there has been built a Memorial for the eight crewmembers lost on this aircraft. The Dedication for this Memorial will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008. We couldnt locate too many of the relatives of the crewmembers, however, some will be in attendance at the Dedication. Anyone in the 301st Bomb Group Association or their families who is interested in attending the Dedication would be welcomed. Detailed information about the Dedication is located on the community of Kleinsoelk web site. The information is in both English and German. http://www.kleinsoelk.at/flugzeugabsturz.html

Kind Regards,
